WesterhamThe first settlement on river Darent is the bustling small town of Westerham . It lies about ten miles west of Sevenoaks. Ham is an Old English word meaning a village or homestead, and so Westerham is literally a westerly homestead. Westerham was a thriving market town in the 18th and 19th century.
